Hey Headliners,

I betcha knew that the peso was widely accepted as legal tender in the United Mexican States…aaaaannnndddd these United Stated…and some Asian territories, once upon a time.

That’s not the peso we’re talking about today, though.

Today’s global currency isn’t always silver or green. It “doesn’t jiggle jiggle” or fold.

You want to be a speaker, make more money than your Boss can pay you now, see your name in lights, and get that time freedom that successful entrepreneurs & CEOs have, huh? You’re not alone. That’s GOALS and there’s one overarching thing that what makes it possible: Communications.

In my world of mass communications, currency isn’t always green. It’s news, it’s fast, it’s trending, and it comes with the cost of your voice and your video. Introducing, my teammate, the PESO communications model. Where PESO stands for:

Paid

Earned

Shared

Owned Media.

Depending on social media alone is the old, and frankly lazy, way of reaching the masses. With so many opportunities to meet your audience where they are, the best way for you (you are a brand, right?) to modernize your communication effort and reach a larger audience is to pick up these PESOs that I’m dropping for you.

For your sake, I won’t reinvent the wheel or boil the ocean, since Curtis Sparrer, Forbes Councils Member, Forbes Communications Council, has a great definition for this communications model. He writes:

Paid media, including advertorial content, sponsored content, social media advertising and exclusive, membership-based publishing opportunities.

Earned media, including free placements from media relations campaigns, such as press releases, bylined articles, “newsjacked” placements, investor relations, blogger relations/link building and word of mouth.

Shared media, including organic social media built on curated content, reviews, forums and other online communities.

Owned media, including wholly-owned content marketing efforts such as blog posts, brand journalism webinars, podcasts, videos and other visual content.

SOLD OUT — wouldn’t you love to see that next to your upcoming event too? I want that for you. PESOs make it happens. We know that PESOs ensure that you reach a larger audience, faster, and more often.
